All of our Windsor chairs are finished by hand using traditional methods of French polishing with shellac and methylated spirit
Shellac is an extremely hard wearing finish that protects as well as enhances the beauty of the chairs. The warm amber tones of the shellac bring out the true beauty of wood, and give depth and colour to the chair that is unobtainable by the modern spray on lacquers.
Wax polish can also be added as a top coat for customers who wish a more subtle matt finish.
